Jamile
Jamile is making her Cape Cod Debut and is a vocalist, composer, and educator from Brazil based in New York City. Her versatility is sharply pronounced in her unique repertoire choices, combining modern and Brazilian jazz into a sound of her own. She has two critically acclaimed albums featuring the great Steve Wilson and was the opening act for Rosa Passos, Ron Carter, and Kenny Barron at Jazz at Lincoln Center in 2023. Jamile also collaborates with Grammy-nominated pianist Mike Holober, the latest project being “This Rock We’re On: Imaginary Letters,” where she was featured alongside Chris Potter and John Patitucci. She has performed at world-renowned venues including Mezzrow, Smalls, Birdland, and Dizzy’s, and received high praise for her performances internationally. Throughout her career, Jamile has performed with veterans of this music, including Toninho Horta, Duduka da Fonseca, Hélio Alves, Ray Gallon, and Jay Leonhart, as well as current NYC jazz luminaries such as Miki Yamanaka and Yotam Silberstein. Jamile will be accompanied by Steve Ahern on trumpet & flute, Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums.

Cape Cod Jazz Quartet
Cape Cod Jazz Quartet (CCJQ) will open the concert with a Miles Davis Centennial Tribute. The CCJQ is comprised of four of Cape Cod’s top Jazz Musicians with Steve Ahern on trumpet & flute from Cape Cod & Florida, Fred Boyle on piano from South Yarmouth, Ron Ormsby on bass from Centerville, and Bart Weisman on drums from Orleans. Since 2009, the CCJQ has appeared at concerts, events, and restaurants across Cape Cod including the Provincetown Jazz Festival. The CCJQ has accompanied vocalists Shawnn Monteiro, Dane Vannatter, Siobhan Magnus, Cassandre McKinley, Tish Adams, Leslie Boyle, Lori Colombo, Krisanthi Pappas, Dennis Flaherty, and has two recordings including one with Dane Vannatter.

Cassandre McKinley
Cassandre McKinley is an Associate Professor in the Voice Department at the Berklee College of Music and is best known for her voluminous voice, spirited emotional performances and a presence on stage that is exuberant, passionate, yet warm and disarming. Cassandre has shared the stage with Jay Geils (J. Geils Band), Dick Johnson (leader of the Artie Shaw Band), Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, Jerry Portnoy (Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters), Peter Eldridge (New York Voices), and many more. She has toured and performed in venues across the country and her music has been heard on national and international radio stations. Cassandre found worldwide recognition with her jazz album “Til Tomorrow - Remembering Marvin Gaye” and Jazztimes Magazine hailed the work as “a rich and sensual salute.” Cassandre will be accompanied by Myanna on sax, Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums.

Myanna
Myanna will open the concert and is one of the hottest and most soulful saxophonists to be based in Massachusetts and she plays music that mixes together jazz improvisation with funky rhythms, expressive playing, and catchy tunes. With her attractive and soulful sounds on her horns, her versatility, and her arranging and compositional skills, Myanna remains in constant demand as a leader and she continues playing regularly in clubs and concerts with her own band; with the Love Dogs; as well as guest appearances. She has won awards for best Jazz Artist several times from both the Boston Music Awards and the Boston Phoenix readers poll. Myanna has recorded four CDs as a leader. Myanna will be accompanied by Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums.
