RON ORMSBY is a jazz bassist originally from Boston, where he studied at Berklee College of Music. In addition to performing at many of the local Boston jazz clubs, he was a founding member of the Boston Jazz Quartet. This group played extensively throughout the New England area and made two tours through Europe. From 1979 to 1984, he owned and operated The Columns Restaurant, a well-known jazz club on Cape Cod. For twenty years Ron was the bassist and personal manager for jazz pianist Marie Marcus. Ron performed with Marie in jazz clubs from Cape Cod to Miami as well as an appearance at the Newport Jazz Festival. Ron also owns REO Studios on Cape Cod.
