String of Pearls
Notes from Land's End
By Laura Shabott
August 8th, 2011
The ivories are tinkling, with sultry
voices filling the air in venues all over town in the coming weeks. Broadway
stars and jazz greats mingle with local chanteuses, making for a splendid
line-up of performances.
ÒI am a very lucky manÓ, says Bart
Weisman, director of the 7th Annual Provincetown Jazz Festival this August 12th
and 13th.
HeÕs quite excited to be back in the
lovingly restored Town Hall, the perfect spot for this event. He reports: ÒWe
can't wait to return and we will have balcony seating and air conditioning for
the first time.Ó
DonÕt miss a String of Pearls, with
vocalists Holli Ross, Sue Halloran and Jeanne
OÕConnor back with their signature bebop style.
Accompanied by Fred Boyle on piano,
Laird Boles on bass and Bart himself on the drums, this concert and festival is
sure to please.
