Provincetown Jazz Festival

Cape's only three-day Jazz event

New York’s Finest Jazz Ensemble is comprised of eighteen members. Every member of the band is a full time New York City Police Officer with advanced and various musical talents and backgrounds.

The 5th Annual Provincetown Jazz Festival will be held on August 14 - 16, 2009 at the Provincetown High School in Provincetown.

This is the only three-day Jazz Festival on Cape Cod and will feature:

• New York's Finest Jazz Ensemble, is making their Cape Cod debut. This Big Band is comprised of eighteen members and all are full time New York City Police Officers with advanced and various musical talents and backgrounds. The NYPD Jazz Ensemble has performed at festivals in New York City, California, Canada, China, and Japan.
• Shawnn Monteiro (vocalist from Providence, RI, coming off a European tour).
• String of Pearls (vocal trio from New York City).
• Beat Kaestli (Swiss vocalist from New York City).
• Krisanthi Pappas (vocalist from Boston).
• With Jim Robitaille & Andy Solberg (guitar); John Harrison III & Fred Boyle (piano); Marshall Wood, Bill Miele & Laird Boles (bass) and Bart Weisman (drums).

There will be three concerts at the Provincetown High School:

• Friday, August 14, 8:00 pm
• Saturday, August 15, 8:00 pm
• Sunday, August 16, 1:00 pm.

Tickets will be $25.00 per concert and a portion of the proceeds are donated to worthy causes in Provincetown.
