Jazz Festival to shake up town
By Melora B. North

For three full days the Provincetown High school will be converted into a New Orleans atmosphere when the 4th Annual Provincetown Jazz Festival brings the stage to life on August 15 through 17.  Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. when a roster or musicians will be performing some mean sounds.

Slated to bring the sounds to the stage are Provincetown resident Zoe Lewis, just off an international tour; Afro Bop Alliance, one of the top Latin jazz bands in the country; Dane Vannatter, a Boston-based jazz vocalist; Greg Abate on sax and flute; Joe Muranyi, a clarinet player who performed with Louis Armstrong; jazz vocalist Marcelle Gauvin and Mercedes Hall; Steve Ahern on trumpet and flute; jazz and blues singer Charlie Harris and many more musicians.

Tickets are $25 per concert and for more information go to www.provincetownjazzfestival.org.
